Galahi Island Village Resort
Galahi is a small island located in the Samarai Group of Islands, approximately one and half hours travel from the Provincial capital Alotau.
The area surrounding Galahi is a naturalist's dream, characterized by a complex system of coral reefs, mangroves, forests and seagrass beds.
You can get to Galahi on local workboats, or charter the Galahi dinghy for a small fee. This dinghy is also available for visits to neighbouring islands, sites of interest, fishing and water activities.
Ecotourism
The Leman family at Galahi, conscious about maintaining their natural resources and heritage, have ventured into ecotourism. Visitors are accommodated in guesthouses.
Visitors have the option of participating in the daily lives of family and relatives, go fishing, just spin, sightsee and story, or just take it easy...
Adventures & Activities
There's plenty to do in and around Galahi. Enjoy the many beaches, participate in the daily life of locals, enjoy local delicacies and feasts, visit the historical Samurai, the ancient Kwato church, or skull caves of the ancestors.
You can also walk from Sawasawaga Village up the Mountain and down the other side to Bwasitau Village returning via
Sawasawaga Passage, or walk from Sawasawaga Village to Sebaluna or Koitupitupi Villages (passing through several different coastal environments and hamlets).
